The short answer

A ₹1,999 item at 25% off costs ₹1,499 — you save ₹500. But watch stacked offers: ‘25% off + extra 10%’ is 32.5% off, not 35%, because the second cut applies to the already-reduced price.

How to use the discount calculator

  1. Enter the original price.
  2. Enter the discount %.
  3. See final price and savings.

Discount Calculator — FAQs

How is discount calculated?

Final price = original × (1 − discount/100). Savings = original − final price.

Do stacked discounts add up?

No. Two successive discounts multiply: 25% then 10% = 1 − (0.75 × 0.90) = 32.5% total, not 35%.

How do I spot a fake discount?

Check the price history — many ‘sales’ inflate the MRP first. A genuine deal beats the item’s usual selling price, not its sticker MRP.

Should I include GST in discount math?

Discounts apply to the pre-tax price; GST is then charged on the discounted amount. You save tax too on discounted items.
