Why does my 1TB drive show 931GB?
Drive makers count 1 TB as 10^12 bytes; your OS counts 2^40 bytes (1,099,511,627,776). 10^12 ÷ 2^40 ≈ 0.9095 — hence 931 ‘GB’.
How many MB in a GB?
1,024 MB in the binary system computers use; storage sellers sometimes mean 1,000 MB.
Bits vs bytes?
8 bits = 1 byte. Internet speeds are sold in megabits (Mbps); divide by 8 to get the MB/s your downloads show.
How big is a 4K movie?
Typically 15–25 GB for streaming quality, 50–100 GB for Blu-ray rips. Plan drive space accordingly.
